Khmer Times - MBCC Contributes $5,000 for Ministry of Education Fund

The Malaysian Business Chamber of Cambodia (MBCC) has contributed a sum of $5,000 to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport Saturday.

The Cheque presentation ceremony was made by MBCC President Oknha Tan Khee Meng to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Youth and Sport, Dr. Hang Chuon Naron at the 30th Anniversary Celebrations of the oldest Chamber in Cambodia.

Dr. Naron was the guest of honour and high representative of Prime Minister Dr Hun Manet at the event, which was attended by numerous Government dignitaries, MBCC members, fellow chamber representatives, and invited guests totalling more than 500.

Oknha Tan, in his remarks, said that the contribution was made in recognition of the transformative power of education, “The MBCC is in the planning stages of establishing a foundation dedicated to Children’s Medical and Education assistance.

“We will inaugurate this initiative in conjunction of tonight MBCC’s celebration with a contribution to the Ministry of Education, a precursor to the profound impact we envision in the coming years.”

Dr Naron in his address said that MBCC’s initiatives as a pioneering Business Chamber has gone a long way in fostering two relations as as enhancement of two way trade and investment between Cambodia and Malaysia.

He applauded MBCC for the contribution and looked forward to the foundation’s establishment which he said would help alleviate the needs of the less fortunate in the country. Khmer Times
