Synopsis: The Malaysian Business Chamber in Cambodia refreshes its corporate identity while introducing a new way to connect to strengthen bilateral investment ties.
The Malaysian Business Chamber in Cambodia (MBCC) has unveiled a new corporate identity, launched its first mobile app and expanded its leadership as part of a major transformation aimed at strengthening Malaysia–Cambodia business ties.
The announcements were made during the chamber’s 2026 Annual General Meeting, where members approved MBCC’s first major rebranding in more than three decades, endorsed the appointment of two new committee members to its board of directors and named media veteran Mohan Bandam as senior adviser.
Mohan’s experience in the media landscape, public relations and institutional communication will provide MBCC with enhanced strategic foresight and public advocacy capabilities.
MBCC President Oknha Tan Khee Meng said the new logo reflects the chamber’s renewed vision while preserving its commitment to promoting bilateral economic cooperation.
“Our old logo has been around for more than 30 years, so it was time to refresh our image,” he said. “The new logo is about refreshing our branding, modernising the design and setting new goals. It signifies the chamber’s journey, ambitions and future direction.”
The redesigned logo retains elements representing Malaysia and Cambodia while introducing a cleaner, more contemporary design intended to reflect growth and modernisation, according to the chamber.
MBCC also introduced its first mobile application, which is designed to strengthen communication among members by providing a business directory, real-time notifications, digital event registration and QR code-based electronic tickets.
“I think this app is very timely because we are now in the technology age,” Oknha Tan said. “People spend more time on their mobile devices than through conventional channels. We are strongly confident this app will become a very efficient tool for our members to connect with each other.”
He said members will receive notifications when new companies join the chamber, browse the membership directory to identify potential business partners and register for events directly through the application without having to contact the chamber’s secretariat.
“The app cuts down miscommunication and makes everything much more efficient,” he said.
Despite challenging economic conditions, he said he remains optimistic about the outlook for Malaysian businesses operating in Cambodia.
“These have been difficult years not only for Cambodia but for the region,” he said. “We have to stay united and help one another. We believe the prospects for Malaysian businesses in Cambodia remain strong, and by working together with the wider business community, we can continue to grow and achieve more together.”
He said the chamber’s latest initiatives lay the foundation for its future development.
“The milestones achieved today are not merely administrative updates; they are the structural pillars upon which MBCC will build its next 35 years of excellence,” he said. “By combining corporate governance, digital agility and seasoned advisory expertise, we are ensuring that Malaysian businesses remain the partners of choice for Cambodia’s vision of economic transformation.”
