MCCC, MBCC meet top Cambodian officials to bolster business ties

Synopsis: The MCCC business mission, guided and supported by MBCC, aims at strengthen bilateral ties, facilitate meaningful exchanges, and explore new ventures between the Malaysian and Cambodian business communities.

Malaysia Chinese Chamber of Commerce (MCCC), along with Malaysian Business Chamber in Cambodia (MBCC), held intense consultations with top officials of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) and the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) to boost bilateral trade and investment ties.

The MCCC business expedition to Phnom Penh, which commenced from August 11-14, was led by its Chairman Dato’ Tony Looi, with strong support from MBCC President Oknha Tan Khee Meng.

The MCCC-led delegation, comprised of 18 companies’ representatives from a diverse range of industries, including food and beverage, furniture and interior, fire safety, construction and engineering, property development, retail, manufacturing, investment, lighting, and global business services.

In the course of the business tour, MBCC played a significant role in working closely with various parties, including the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), the Embassy of Malaysia in Phnom Penh, and the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) to coordinate and arrange the delegation’s meeting and activity schedules throughout their visit to Phnom Penh.

This business mission aimed to strengthen bilateral ties, facilitate meaningful exchanges, and explore new ventures between the Malaysian and Cambodian business communities.

The itinerary included corporate site visits, roundtable discussions with local companies, and networking sessions with Cambodian entrepreneurs. Through these engagements, MCCC sought to explore new opportunities, enhance economic ties, and promote future collaborations in Cambodia.

On Monday, the MCCC delegation met with the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), led by Suon Sophal, Deputy Secretary General of the Cambodian Investment Board at CDC.
